Spring, MThe sunflower. Tall, strong, turning it’s head to the sun, reaching for the skies. It speaks in colors, bold and true. Rivera, Van Gogh, and Gaugin were among the many painters inspired by the strength and beauty of this flower. As you know, flowers have always been a part of my work and I am happy to share my most recent silk and felt incarnation.
In troubled times, the brightness and steadfastness of the sunflower can remind us of perseverance and hope. We, who are fortunate to live safely in our homes, with our loved ones and the things that we need, can at least send our wishes of determination and belief in positive outcomes. We could do more by offering donations and assistance to those who need it most. Collectively, like a field of sunflowers, let’s turn our faces to the sun, and take a moment to be thankful for what we have, and another to be gracious with our bounty.
Dear reader, walk with the sun and never doubt the beauty of an existing moment.
