“Fusion felting”, or Nuno felting is a textile artform that has been practiced since the 1990s. This  process marries recycled and sustainably harvested silk and natural fibers with a water and soap massage, producing a strong and resilient textile that is luxuriously soft, flowing, and versatile. Every Andrea Lebeau Designs creation is handcrafted in my Illinois studio. Each piece begins with a vision and, as I lay down the silk and pull the wool, a shape and color palette take form. The ultimate texture you will  hold in your hands is born first, through the felting process and then pressed through a ringer which provides heat to seal the fabric bond. The result is what you see on these pages. I am pleased to present my work to you!
